Inpatient Services at Columbia Memorial Hospital

At Columbia Memorial Hospital (CMH) patient safety is our priority and we believe that our patients deserve to have their unique needs met with warmth, dignity, and kindness during all treatments from our medical physicians in Astoria, like vaccine and birthing center services. We understand that you do have options when it comes to where you will receive your care.  We hope to become your first choice for hospital-based care and commit to doing all we can to exceed your expectations by providing an excellent and satisfying CMH experience, whether you are at the birthing center in Astoria or getting a vaccine from a medical physician.

Every day, each caregiver at CMH is committed to living the Planetree patient-centered care philosophy. From our friendly, professional, and attentive nursing team to those caregivers working to keep your room clean during your stay; from our carefully planned room service menu to our open visiting hours, we provide exceptional service that is respectful, compassionate and customized.

CMH is an HFAP-accredited, Planetree-Designated, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital. The main hospital facility includes a medical/surgical unit, same-day and inpatient surgery units, a critical care unit, as well as a Family Birthing Center in Astoria. Patients served by CMH’s inpatient and surgical service units receive diagnostic testing services and laboratory services when needed, as well as access to a variety of complementary therapies and programs.

Hospitalist Care Program

Patients admitted to CMH are cared for by our Hospitalists. A hospitalist is a physician whose primary professional focus is the medical care of hospitalized patients. The CMH Hospitalist works closely with your entire care team including your primary care provider, other specialists, and nurses to ensure you receive the high-quality care needed to help you recover from your illness, injury or surgical procedure.

Hospitalists are highly knowledgeable about the unique needs of a hospitalized person and are readily accessible to respond to each patient’s particular needs.
