CMH is an HFAP-accredited, Planetree-Designated, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital. The main hospital facility includes a medical/surgical unit, same-day and inpatient surgery units, a critical care unit, as well as a family birthing center. Patients served by CMH’s inpatient and surgical service units receive diagnostic testing services and laboratory services when needed, as well as access to a variety of complementary therapies and programs.
Patients admitted to CMH are cared for by our Hospitalists. A hospitalist is a physician whose primary professional focus is the medical care of hospitalized patients. The CMH Hospitalist works closely with your entire care team including your primary care provider, other specialists, and nurses to ensure you receive the high-quality care needed to help you recover from your illness, injury or surgical procedure.
Hospitalists are highly knowledgeable about the unique needs of a hospitalized person and are readily accessible to respond to each patient’s particular needs.
The CMH surgery department consists of state-of-the-art operating rooms and private and comfortable patient rooms for before and after your procedure. When you elect to have your surgery at CMH, you will be cared for by a team of experienced surgical nurses who work closely with your surgeon and nurse anesthetist to ensure you have an exceptional patient-centered experience.
After your surgery or procedure has been scheduled, our pre-admission testing nurse will work with you to complete necessary pre-operative procedures such as lab tests, x-rays, and EKGs, as well as answer questions about how to prepare for your surgery and what to expect during recovery. The CMH pre-admission testing nurse can be reached at 503-338-7516.
Both same day procedures and in-patient surgeries are done in the main hospital. You can expect a call the day before your surgery (usually between the hours of 2:00-4:00pm) to let you know what time you should arrive at the hospital the next day.
