CMH has been associated with the Planetree organization since 2013. Our Planetree certification shows that CMH is a person-centered hospital, where providers prioritize comfort, dignity, empowerment, and well-being, along with top-quality care.
Every year, several caregivers from CMH attend the Planetree International Conference on Person-Centered Care. In 2019, the conference was held in Orlando, Florida.
Person-centered care
The highlight of the conference was being acknowledged for the hard work that is put in at CMH every day. During the awards ceremony, Planetree officially awarded CMH the Gold Certification for Excellence in Person-Centered Care. There are currently 112 gold-certified sites worldwide.
“These organizations that have achieved certification for excellence in person-centered care are living examples of what is possible in health care,” says Planetree International President Susan Frampton. “Through their relentless commitment to listening to the voices of patients and families and partnering with staff, they are refocusing how we evaluate quality to include the human experience of care and caregiving.”
Planetree also awarded caregiver Mari Montesano, social worker in the CMH-OHSU Knight Cancer Collaborative, the Scholar Award for her dedication in partnering with patients and staff to better our community.
CMH’s achievement is a high honor attained because of our caregivers’ continued commitment to person-centered care.
