 At CMH, we employ more than 50 medical assistants across 14 clinics. Their duties are integral to the excellent care we provide to our patients. Get to know two longtime MAs from our Women’s Center and Pediatric Clinic!

Jacque, RMA, Women’s Center

Jacque MAHow long have you worked here?
Six years in June

What other jobs have you had in your lifetime?
Lots, but nothing like working at CMH.

What does person-centered care mean to you? 
It means taking the time to listen to and understand each patient. That’s the only way to help them on the path to healthy living.

What brought you to the community and/or why do you enjoy living here?
I grew up in Astoria and moved away. After having kids, I wanted to be close to my family, who all live here.

Are you married or do you have a partner? If so, how long have you been together?
Matt and I have been together for seven years, married for five.

Do you have any children? How many?
Yes, two. Briana is 15 and Gabriel is 12.

What are your favorite foods?
I like pasta even though it’s way too carby. Sweets — not so much. I’m a salty kind of gal.

Where have you traveled?
I’ve traveled in the States, but the most exotic trip was to the Philippines.

Where were you born?
Seaside, Oregon

If you could be a dinosaur, which one would you be?
Velociraptor, but my son, Gabe, says micro-raptor, because they’re smarter.

What are your hobbies?
Going to concerts, snowboarding, running, cooking and always spending time with my family

What is your favorite book/movie of all time?
Fight Club

Which superpower would you want to have?
Being immortal

Who is your favorite musician/band?
That’s tough. I like a lot of music. Mostly rock, but some metal, too. I can’t pick just one.

Are you the oldest, youngest, middle or only child in your family?
Sort of in the middle. I have two older sisters, one older brother, and two younger sisters.

What is your Zodiac sign?
Scorpio

Do you have any hidden talents?
Not unless you count unintentional intimidation

Do you have any pets?
A bearded dragon, Lizard, and a cat, Luna

What is your top pet peeve?
People who act like they are better than everyone else, arrogance and bullies

What was your favorite cartoon as a kid? 
Looney Tunes

What is your greatest accomplishment?
So far, my kids!

What is your favorite ice cream?
Cookies and Cream

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A writer or a psychologist

What is your favorite thing about working in the Women’s Center or the Pediatric Clinic?
I love all the people I work with. I think we make a great team/family. Helping people feel better and seeing them smile and be truly thankful for the help they were given. Oh, and all the babies!

How long have you worked here?
I have been a Medical Assistant at CMH since 2011.

What other jobs have you held in your lifetime?
In my teens, I was a hostess at Denny’s and Shilo Inn restaurants, and as a young adult, I worked at Peace Learning Center as a preschool teacher.Ashley MA

What does person-centered care mean to you?
Caring for one person’s experience at a time, providing the best care for their specific needs, and always treating them how I would want to be treated.

What brought you to the community and/or why do you enjoy living here?
This is a fantastic place to raise a family! The community is caring, and there are so many outdoor activities to do as a family.

Are you married or do you have a partner? If so, how long have you been together?
Yes, I’ve been married to Ronnie since 2006 and together since 2004. 

Do you have any children? How many?
We have four children — Danielle, 13, Molly, 10, Leah, 5, and Logan, 2.5.

What are your favorite foods?
I love almost everything — some favorites would be Thai, pizza, burgers and salmon.

If you could be a dinosaur, which one would you be?
That’s a tough one…either a t-rex, because they are strong, or a pterodactyl, because they fly and eat fish.

Which superpower would you want to have?
With the help of my oldest daughter, I’ve decided my power would be shapeshifter. I’d have the ability to change into anyone/anything and take their power!

Are you the oldest, youngest, middle or only child in your family?
Biologically, I am the youngest. I do have two step-siblings who are younger than me.

What are your hobbies?
As a family, I love going out of town for skiing, camping trips, rafting trips. I also enjoy frisbee golf, water tubing and bike riding.

What is your favorite book/movie of all time?
We love family movie nights in our house, and to pick a favorite is hard. I would say Wreck-it Ralph is on the list.

Who is your favorite musician/band?
Country music would be my go-to for sure. It’s a safe bet lyric-wise with the kids in the car.

What is your zodiac sign?
Leo

Do you have any hidden talents?
My daughter says I’m good at doing hair. I’m also good at organizing and being a referee to my four children.

What was your favorite cartoon as a kid?
Care Bears and Inspector Gadget

What is your greatest accomplishment?
Being a mom! It’s the most challenging and rewarding thing I’ve ever done!

What is your favorite ice cream?
Definitely Frite and Scoop’s Hokey Pokey

What did you want to be when you grew up?
As a child, I wanted to be a singer…until I realized I couldn’t sing. As a young adult, I knew I wanted to work in healthcare, but didn’t know exactly what. 

What is your favorite thing about working in the Women’s Center or Pediatric Clinic?
I love both the Women’s Center and the Pediatric Clinic so much! Being able to take care of our pregnant moms in the Women’s Center and to also take care of their little babies in Pediatrics is so rewarding and a really cool experience! I am proud to be a part of such a great team of caregivers here at CMH!
