Mary Kellow has worked in Radiology for CMH for 25 years and has been a certified radiology tech for 47 years. When she first started here, there were only around 160 employees and one main building. She remembers hand-developing x-ray films, hauling heavy cassettes into the darkroom for developing and hoping that films would roll out perfectly to see the results. With new machines that develop instant pictures, she no longer has to toil in the darkroom for hours.
Mary has lived in the Astoria area for 25 years after moving with her family from Tillamook County. Although she originally was from Portland and had already lived on the coast, she says moving to Astoria was like a homecoming. The last 25 years have created wonderful memories and lasting friendships. She has truly enjoyed being part of the community and watching it thrive. She is nearing retirement and hopes to spend the next 25 years finishing projects, traveling and sipping good wine in her garden. She is married with three daughters, four Chihuahuas and two granddaughters.
