Clatsop County’s 94.9 The Bridge caught up with CMH Tobacco Cessation coordinator Alissa Dorman in September. She talks about the biggest challenges to people quitting tobacco, how she helps inpatients and outpatients work at quitting tobacco.
CMH offers one-on-one tobacco cessation counseling in a nonjudgmental and supportive environment. Patients leave their first appointment with a personalized quitting plan. Dorman, who is a certified tobacco treatment specialist, works with primary care providers to provide counseling and prescription support that gives patients the best changes of succeeding in quitting. Most health insurance plans will cover the cost of meeting with Dorman.
Tobacco Cessation appointments are available Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and are billable to most insurance. Call 503-325-4321 ext. 81102 for more information or to schedule an appointment. Click here to learn more about CMH Tobacco Cessation.
