Hospital Week 2018

CMH recognizes caregivers during annual celebration

We had great fun celebrating Hospital Week for the past few days. Here are some of the highlights:

  • On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, caregivers practiced yoga. The hour-long yoga retreats were taught by our very own caregiver from the CMH Foundation, Nicole Bales.
  • On Tuesday, caregivers enjoyed an ice cream and fruit bar social and painted rocks to take home with them. Warrenton caregivers enjoyed their own ice cream social, as well.
  • On Wednesday, the Spirit of Caring Awards were given to Mark Muse, Dr. Jimmy Thomas and Gil the Betta Fish. The True North Quality Awards were presented to those participating in the CMH-OHSU Knight Cancer Collaborative opening, the team members on the ED Dashboard project and Dr. Juliette Moore. Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners!
  • On Thursday, three local food trucks — Mo’s, Roll & Bowl and Monte Alban — provided meals to 388 hungry caregivers. Uptown Café provided a meal for Warrenton Clinic caregivers.
  • On Friday, caregivers celebrated CMH Logo Day by wearing denim and a CMH shirt, jacket or hoodie. Department basket drawings were held and several vendors provided caregivers with locally grown, caught or raised food and plants during the farmers market. Vendors included Glory B, Blackberry Bogs and Biocharm Farms.
  • All week, Angela Sidlo provided a traveling spa for caregivers.
  • This year, 79 caregivers were recognized for CMH milestones — the biggest record (by far) of any Hospital Week!

Thank you to Kelli Brenden, Kristen Moss, Denise Hickman, Megan Hutchinson, Cindy Nemlowill, Amanda Judd and the members of the Planetree Caregiver Council for giving input and helping us celebrate our wonderful caregivers during this year’s Hospital Week festivities!

Masks continue to be required at CMH for patients, caregivers, and visitors.Learn More
