If you’ve ever lost someone you love, you know the importance memories have on healing. That is the fundamental element of Lower Columbia Hospice’s Hearts for Hospice program. Thousands of loved ones have been honored and/or remembered through a handmade heart ornament in more than two decades of the program’s operation. Loved ones’ names are handwritten on tags and placed with ornaments on trees in the Pavilion and East and West Lobbies at CMH. What a beautiful way to “share” Christmas with a friend or family member who has passed.
The proceeds of the program support low-income Hospice patients. The program also contributes to the healing process of anyone who has suffered the loss of someone dear to them.
Honorees need not have used hospice services to receive a dedicated heart. Use the form below or in the Daily Astorian to dedicate a heart.
