CMH welcomes new physician assistant in Cardiology

Tom Peckenham-Hernandez, PA-C, joins three current providers at CMH-OHSU Health Cardiology Clinic


ASTORIA, Ore. — CMH is pleased to welcome Thomas Peckenham-Hernandez, PA-C, physician assistant, to the CMH-OHSU Health Cardiology Clinic, where he began working this week.

“I’m excited to start a new adventure in a familiar town with my partner and our dog on the coast,” Tom said.

Tom earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Oregon and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. He has worked as a surgical assistant in Eugene, Oregon, and recently rotated in Cardiology at the OHSU Veterans Affairs Medical Center prior to joining CMH.

Tom has been recognized for his work by OHSU, Salud America and the University of Oregon. His medical interests are cardiology and migrant farmworker health care access. 

Tom is a member of the Oregon Society of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the American College of Cardiology.

When he isn’t working, Tom enjoys playing guitar, fishing, surfing, hiking and drawing. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
