January always puts me in a thoughtful frame of mind — reflecting on what we’ve accomplished in the past year and looking forward to a bright future ahead.
As Columbia Memorial Hospital marked its 138th year of service in 2018, the CMH-OHSU Knight Cancer Collaborative completed its first. Within a few months of opening the Cancer Collaborative, it was clear how necessary this service was in our region. The Cancer Collaborative cared for more than 1,250 people in 2018, which was far more than we anticipated for its first year.
In 2018, we expanded access to primary care by opening a second CMH Primary Care Clinic in Astoria and brought to the North Oregon coast the latest in 3D mammography technology. We also welcomed 12 new physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants to CMH.
Please join me for this issue of the CMH Health Compass as we share the stories of five long-time caregivers from Imaging Services, who have served our community for a collective 150 years, and introduce five of our newest medical providers, including local Primary Care Physician Aaron Brown, DO.
